Optical instruments have been chosen considering portability, affordability and magnification capacity.
The apparatus consists of:

There is also necessary:
- Cotton gloves
- A handheld light source calibrated daylight to illuminate the surface of the print
- A polyester paper to use when microscopic surface observation requires direct contact between the instrument and the print
